Earth Day is quickly approaching on April 22. This year’s theme is “Restore Our Earth” and one company is doing its part by giving back to the environment.
Vitafusion, an American gummy vitamin brand, is reportedly the first in the vitamins category to use recycle-friendly shrink-film-labeled packaging in the U.S. They converted to recycle-friendly shrink-labeled packaging in 2018.
“Increasing the recyclability of our packaging is a great decision for the long-term success of our business and our environment. This exciting new technology has huge potential to improve recycling for shrink-labeled packaging across many companies and industries,” Rich McNabb, Global Director of Packaging for Church & Dwight.
The brand aims to do their part for the environment with their recycle-friendly packaging, but their social consciousness hasn’t stopped there. They’ve partnered with The Fruit Tree Planting Foundation and have completed their goal of planting 200,000 fruit trees by the end of 2020, in both international and US-based communities. Now, more people are able to experience how unbe-leaf-able fruit trees are!
This year, The Fruit Tree Planting Foundation, along with vitafusion, will plant hundreds more fruit trees in communities that need them most. The goal is to plant more than 200,000 fruit trees, which will produce over 28 million pieces of fresh fruit and provide 33 million pounds of oxygen. With numbers like this, it is no wonder vitafusion loves to dig fruit trees, creating the joyful impact now and for more generations to come.
