This cream for face and body works well in the cold months of the year when your skin is dry and needs some extra protection. If you don’t want to be shiny during the day use it as a night cream or as a wellness treatment when sitting in your bathtub. I always make small portions of my creams and beauty products. That way I don’t have to be afraid of spoiling.
- 1 Tbsp shea butter
- 1 tsp coconut oil
- 2 tsp bees wax
- 1 tsp almond oil
- 1 Tbsp glycerin
- 1 Tbsp aloe vera gel
- some drops of essential oil to your like
Melt the shea butter, coconut oil and beeswax over a water bath. When melted take the pot from the stove and quickly stir all other ingredients in. To really combine them I use a little hand mixer I bought from IKEA for making milk foam for cappuccinos. Pour into a little glass or old cream jar and let cool completely
About the ingredients: I only use organically grown ingredients and I try to buy them bulk and plastic free to avoid trash. Shea butter is a nut extract and a complex fat that softens your skin. It melts at body temperature. Coconut oil is antimicrobial and can help against inflammation or acne. Bees wax helps with the consistency of the cream and puts a protective layer on your skin. It can heal and soften your skin. Almond oil improves cell turnover and is a powerful moisturizer. Glycerin is made from plat oils and mildly antimicrobial and antiviral, also a moisturizer. Aloe vera gel is extracted from the fleshy leaves of the aloe vera plant and is moisturizing the skin.
